New premium partner of the Hahnenkamm Races in Kitzbühel

A partnership with regional ties

The Hahnenkamm Races are part of the Alpine Ski World Cup and reach an audience of millions every year. With this partnership, BKW is expanding its commitment to snow sports in the German-speaking region.

In Kitzbühel, sport meets an area in which BKW is already active: alpine infrastructure. BKW Engineering has been involved in the region in areas including piste construction, the Walde ski tunnel and the Fleckalm pressure reducing station.

Shorter snowmaking time on the Streif

One example of the work on site is the modernised Seidlalm snowmaking infrastructure, which was commissioned in autumn 2024. It reduces the snowmaking time for the Streif, the Ganslernhang, the Familienabfahrt and the Kampenabfahrt from 170 to around 80 hours.

Further projects are currently in planning or already being implemented. For example, the Sonnenrast reservoir is nearing completion and is designed for both winter and summer use.

Connecting snow sports and infrastructure

With the Hahnenkamm Races, BKW is continuing its commitment in a region where it is already operationally active. At the same time, the partnership offers an opportunity to showcase the work of BKW Engineering to an international audience.
