A day with Swenja
A structured start to the day
6.30 a.m. at the Belp site: Swenja starts her working day with a coffee and a look at the day’s schedule. After a brief team meeting, the vehicles are loaded – with cable reels, tools and measuring devices. Today’s assignment: cabling between a transformer station and a new distribution cabinet.
“When the power is flowing again after an assignment, it fills me with pride, because we achieved it as a team.”

A pit stop for the team
On the way to the construction site, a stop for a mid-morning snack is part of the routine. “The most important meal of the day,” says Swenja with a laugh. Then it’s time to get to work: pulling out cables, greasing them, pulling them in and connecting them precisely. Every move has to be spot on. Safety and teamwork come first – as does flexibility. “Sometimes a fault report comes in. Then it’s a case of rescheduling on the fly. That’s exactly what makes my job exciting.”
More than work in the field
When there is less to do outside, the working day shifts to the office. Swenja then plans the new projects, supports apprentices or checks material orders. “I love the variety. No two days are the same – I’m a planner, trainer and practitioner all in one.”
Flexible working – indoors and outdoors
Depending on the weather and the order situation, the day ends in the office or directly on the construction site. Today, Swenja drives back to Belp shortly after 5 pm, unloads the material and writes her report in the system. “I’m proud of what we achieve,” she says. “Our work ensures that electricity flows everywhere – in homes, schools and industrial buildings. Without us, many things would come to a standstill.” Through their commitment, Swenja and her team ensure every day that energy reliably reaches where it is needed.
