Different perspectives enrich us: we learn from one another, complement each other and develop new solutions together.

We are committed to diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities – regardless of gender, origin, age, religion, sexual orientation, identity or other personal characteristics. Our aim is to ensure that all employees have equal opportunities to develop, participate and contribute their strengths. In this way, we create an environment in which different experiences and ways of thinking become visible, barriers are broken down and new ideas can emerge. Diversity and inclusion are anchored in our corporate values and are an important part of our Code of Conduct.

Actively shaping diversity

Diversity is created where people contribute their perspectives, learn from one another and take responsibility together. The diversity@BKW network provides space to contribute ideas, attend inspiring events and network across the entire BKW Group.

Managers and employees work together to promote equal opportunities, incorporate different perspectives and strengthen collaboration across teams, specialist areas and companies. Within the diversity@BKW network, four communities are committed to different aspects of diversity and inclusion.

To mark Advance’s tenth anniversary in March 2023, artists created 30 sculptures dedicated to equality. The artist Rosemary Rauber-Singleton designed an Advancine for BKW. It reminds us how valuable diversity and conscious encounters are. “Diversity and diverse encounters move us all forward.” This is precisely the message conveyed by the sculpture “Taking the time to see”: every encounter with other people opens up new perspectives – for the individual, society and us as an employer.
